All the Colors of the Night (Todas As Cores Da Noite)
Iris lives in a nice apartment by the sea where she regularly hosts frantic drug-fueled parties that go all night long – until one morning the dead body of a man appears in her living room, pushing Iris and the people around her to revisit old stories that bring back ghosts of their past. An intriguing tale of magical realism and lyrical darkness, ALL THE COLORS OF THE NIGHT explores reality as a mix of memories, madness, and imagination.
THE ANTHROPOLOGIST is an enlightening examination of how—and why—we study cultures and human behaviors. Differing from the standard approach, the director’s present the audience with parallel stories of influential field leaders, Margaret Mead and Susie Crate, which include the unique perspectives of their daughters traveling and working alongside them. The film examines the mother-daughter relationships, generational differences, and passing down “the family business,” along with delving into the bigger picture of what it means to be human.
Lou and her best friend Sadie spend most of their nights steeped in a murky haze of pot smoke and booze-filled TV-watching, venturing out on occasion to party in a desolate community full of other miscreants of society. After an otherwise normal night of self-destructive behavior, Lou awakens with symptoms of a bizarre illness and psychosomatic visions she can’t seem to shake. An unknown stranger arrives to help her get a grip on reality as paranoia sets in and stories of conspiracy spread.
